Thanks To

This page will list all of the public 'thankyou's that I'd like to make to those individuals who have made a major contribution to the Warp Storms entity.

Quoted from One Thousand Posts by Paul:

"JJ - Jordan was the gentleman who first founded Warp Storms, though under another name. It was he that first gave me the bug - though I had been an avid hobbyist for some time, he put the forum idea in my mind. Over time we became good friends at my own forum, and kept in contact almost daily. He then moved the forum from my beloved ProBoards over to InvisionFree, despite my warnings not to. Though we made a good go of things, it fell apart, and was disbanded. Many months later I asked if he wanted to make another go of it, with me as a partner. We moved back to ProBoards, under the WarpStorms name. Things went fairly well, and you can still see the fruit of our labours to this day, though I don't give out the link anymore ;-) Two or three skins later and we came to the much known blue and black skin, and things were going well.

It was around the time I started thinking about a website that things went downhill - virtually all activity died, and things went from bad to worse. It was also around this time that Jordan finally decided enough was enough, and he was leaving Warp Storms after many years. Though I was saddened, it was for the best. Unfortunately after this we have pretty much lost contact, which is a shame. Coming in to replace him was Lord Calsius, whom I will mention upon later. On a number of occasions we tried to pull things back, but a fresh start was needed, and this was the product.

If it weren't for JJ, Warp Storms would have never existed in the first place. He is like the roots of what will surely grow into a mighty tree.
I'd also just like to add that JJ was a crackin' lad, and that I do miss him somewhat. I have recently tried to get in contact with him, but failed. It looks like the only way we shall ever cross paths again is if he either wonders if anything ever became of our little project, or if we make it big enough to make White Dwarf (which he may not even read - he may not even be in the hobby anymore)

Thoume - I can't believe I actually forgot to add him in! Thoume joined us towards the end of the last Warp Storms attempt on a ProBoard. Much like LC it was fairly obvious from the beginning that me and JJ were going to bump him up at some point or other. The fact of the matter is, for a lengthy period of time, there were only four people posting - me, JJ, LC and Thoume. Thoume was for a long time one of Warp Storms' supporting pillars, providing activity to the boards, and a reason for others to post. Unfortunately Thoume has not yet joined us here at WarpStorms.com, but I'm sure it will only be a matter of time before we drag him back ;-)
I would just like to say that today (21 March 07) at 19:48 I have just accepted Thoume as a Warp Storms member once more =D

Lord Calsius - LC turned up during the last Warp Storms boom. Things were going well, Thoume and JJ were still around, and it was obvious from the moment he turned up that he was going to become a big player. After a matter of only weeks I wanted to ask him to become staff, but I didn't, due to member numbers. Instead he was given the promise that as soon as I could, I'd bump him up. As a result, he is the only person to have ever become 'Honourary Staff' LC spent a lot of time trying to provoke others into posting, doing his best to keep activity up regardless of depressing member numbers, and for that I thank him.

When JJ left I asked LC to replace him as my joint-Admin and co-Owner, and he graciously accepted. He took the extra responsibility in his stride, and to this day he has put in huge amounts of work for Warp Storms - he has written the entire Articles board virtually by himself! He has also clearly expressed on many occasions that he'd do anything and everything he could to right the wrongs in Warp Storms, and he has more than lived up to his promises.

I greatly look forward to entering the next era of Warp Storms with LC by my side.

And lastly, Campbell - This is probably going to be the shortest of the thankyous, but it's deserved nonetheless. Chances are, Campbell is the reason you're reading this. He was lurking around during the ProBoards days, and when we moved I convinced him with a hammer to join. Brandishing the hammer once more, I asked him to invite the people from his local GW, and those in his contacts book. He insisted that if I added a Fantasy section, he'd do so. A little apprehensively I did so - none of the staff had, to my knowledge, any real Fantasy knowledge. Having been around Campbell for some time I bumped him up, and let him know that he better not let me down. Business sky-rocketted, gaining us almost seven hundred posts in a single month! Due to Campbells hints and nudges, most of our regulars are still kicking about, and this it's due to him that I am still proud to call myself co-owner of Warp Storms' strongest era to date."

Quoted from One Thousand Posts by Lord Calsius: "I think its only fair that we thank Paul. After all without him none of this would be possible. he has put in three times more hours than the the person with the second largest amount of login time with a whopping 2d 15h 27m. Only with this astonishing dedication has WS been able to reach its most successful point. Not only has he invested time, but also money. As you all must know by now has committed a very large sum to the development of a professional WS website to really push us into the mainstream of 40k forums. I have no doubt that it will certainly be successful and the end result superb. He has done a great job so far and of course his leadership will take WS to new levels of popularity in the future."

Paul: Upon completion of the new website, I'd like to add another thankyou to Renegade and Ron, the masters behind our new world. Renegade is an old aquaintance of mine, from some time ago. We haven't spoken a great deal in recent times, but we knew each other well enough that the occasional bit of spam was thrown and suchlike. Upon hearing that I was in need of a designer, Renegade let me know that he'd be willing to offer up his (and Ron's) services. After doing a little haggling, and talking about features and whatnot, he gave Ron the all-clear and they set to work designing what is now my new toy ;-) Though this thankyou isn't the same as the others, for the reason that Rene & Ron have done this for a nice payment, I think that the work and effort put in to make my our dreams a reality is reason enough to warrant a little comment in here. It's also worth noting that Renegade (who has been the liason between myself and Ron) has been very understanding and patient with me, even when I keep badgering him about little changes and small features that were not previously included.

To Renegade and Ron - a hearty thankyou!

To all those mentioned, and to all those not, thankyou!
